LinkedIn

My primary goal with LinkedIn was to find a qualified participant to take part in my interview. In order to have enough time to conduct my research and evaluate the interview, I set a goal of finding a candidate at least four weeks before the report was due.

The search for suitable candidates began in early March. I knew this process would take a while, and I wanted to aim high and see if I could locate someone from a well-known company like ASOS. I began by compiling a list of companies—both big and small. Next, I prepared a list of names and added every one of them as connections on LinkedIn. Additionally, I engaged with them on their accounts to establish some type of presence.

I felt at ease as I started the process of looking for someone to interview because I knew exactly the type of interviewee and when the interview would probably take place. I started to worry when several of the potential prospects didn't respond to me or responded too late. When certain individuals didn't answer my messages, I was a little let down.

LinkedIn is essential since it provided me with the opportunity to research new employers, think about alternative career paths, and locate interview candidates. I can communicate with experts in my area of interest and broaden my professional network. I can also develop connections with past students, lecturers, executives, and other professionals.

I learned a lot about myself, including the fact that I was interested in several different fashion-related professions. I discovered that I was interested in fashion marketing and buying after exploring businesses and reading what staff members had to say on their LinkedIn profiles.

I think I need to improve both my communication abilities and the way I send emails and direct messages. In my perspective, a gentler approach would have been better; I believe mine was probably too direct. I could have given the messages a little more depth as well. Additionally, I believe that I should have concentrated more on former Bath Spa students since they would have completed the module and be more familiar with my goals.

I still have a lot to learn from LinkedIn, and by regularly publishing educated and important posts there, I could have improved my networking skills. Utilising LinkedIn's resources like references from colleagues, customers, or supervisors who can attest to my talents and knowledge would also be beneficial. LinkedIn offers virtual events and webinars on a range of subjects. I may attend these events to get new knowledge, make business connections, and interact with other professionals who share my interests (LinkedIn, 2023).
